About me

A bit more context about my background and how I like to work.

I’m Sean Kendall, a Designer and UX Engineer focused on building clear, durable systems that support complex products at scale. I care about clarity, momentum, and solving the right problems early—so teams can move faster without accumulating friction or rework.

As organizations and products grow, breakdowns tend to show up in the same places: inconsistent experiences, duplicated effort, unclear ownership, and systems that weren’t designed to scale. I focus on those moments—where shared structure becomes essential—and work to turn loosely aligned goals into foundations teams can actually use and adopt.

Much of my work centers on design systems, common experience standards, and internal tools, often in high-constraint environments where workflow, accessibility, and information hierarchy matter more than visual novelty. I spend a lot of time clarifying intent across teams, shaping system architecture, and closing the gap between design decisions and real-world implementation.

Outside of work, I’m a father, animal lover, sneakerhead, and music obsessive—someone who values good company, thoughtful conversation, and wandering perspectives.

How I like to work

A few principles that show up across most of my projects.

  • Systems, not one-offs.I prefer patterns, primitives, and flows that scale across teams and products—not bespoke solutions for a single surface.
  • Grounded in reality.I stay close to customers, partners, and operators so the work reflects how things actually run—constraints included.
  • Clear over clever.I favor straightforward interactions and decision points that are easy to learn, debug, and extend over time.
  • Collaborative by default.I frame problems early with Design, Product, Engineering, and Operations so trade-offs are explicit and surprises are rare.
